Department of Surgery and Urology

Our Operations

Surgery Ward 70C is one of four departments within the Department of Surgery/Urology. We provide highly specialized surgical care focusing on transplantation surgery, liver/pancreas, and esophagus/stomach surgery. Most of our operations are planned, but we also conduct a certain amount of acute and subacute care with direct admissions to the ward from our collaborating regions.

The ward also includes the transplantation clinic, where our patients come for investigations and follow-ups before and after transplantation. The clinic is partially staffed by personnel from the ward. The ward has 24 beds staffed by a large and dedicated team of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, managers, dietitians, physiotherapists, and pharmacists. We work with the patient in focus, and you will have an exciting job where you meet patients of various ages and situations and help make a difference in their lives.

Your Mission

As a nursing assistant in 70C, you, along with the nurse in your care team, will be responsible for five to six patients. The work includes tasks such as basic patient care, NEWS and blood sugar monitoring, monitoring and follow-up of fluid balance and calorie registration, wound dressings, drainage care, and preventive measures to prevent falls, pressure sores, and malnutrition. The tasks are planned with the patient in focus together with the nurse. With us, you can expect a varied job with challenging and rewarding tasks.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant. Experience working as a nursing assistant in a hospital is an advantage but not a requirement.

Your Competence

As a person, you are structured and responsible, always putting the patient first. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You also need to have good ability to collaborate and communicate with your colleagues, regardless of profession. It is important that you can plan and prioritize your work. Personal qualities will be highly valued.

We Offer

We offer a permanent full-time position with a start date by agreement. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and nights. Night work will only be relevant once you have settled into the ward work properly after consultation with the manager.

We work with healthy scheduling, and you will have the opportunity to influence your schedule. We have scheduled training days four times a year and weekly lectures for continuous professional development. A probationary period may be applied. We offer an individually tailored 4-week introduction and a full-day training when you start your employment with us. Additionally, depending on your previous experience, other basic training may also be offered.

With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/)).
